History, Mission, and Principles
Background
Joe started working with his hands and using tools at a very young age. He took an interest in German cars as a youth and began an apprenticeship at a renowned Porsche Workshop. Trained by BMW and Porsche Master technicians decades his senior, he was taught how to think, how to troubleshoot and how to manage his work effectively the way that technicians had for generations. These relationships and experience proved invaluable to Joe... he's become a very resourceful guy that knows how to diagnose, manage multiple projects, fabricate tools and parts when needed and can find a lasting solution for just about anything you put in front of him. What makes him unique is that he's very clean and has vast, intimate technical expertise on rare and exotic sports cars- specifically Ferrari and Porsche cars. He has a diverse blend of technical training and experience and he's always exploring ways to utilize his skills to better service his clients and their cars.

Fees
Our labor rates vary by the type of work that is requested. All work performed in the shop is classified one of two ways:
Standard Work
Diagnosis, maintenance and repairs of a general nature on common road-going cars fall under the description of Standard Work. This type of work is commonly performed on vehicles that are less that 20 years old and are not modified, therefore, are more predictable. Fewer resources, special tooling, training, time, space requirements and processes are required to carry out Standard Work.
Specialty Work
This type of work describes any work that would generally be found to be outside the scope of practice of a dealership. Restorative work, fabrication, tuning, modification, installation of aftermarket performance components, retrofits, internal engine and gearbox work, engine swaps and custom work of any kind all fall under our definition of Specialty Work. Any work performed on highly-modified cars, exotic cars, unique collectibles or cars that are greater than 20 years old is considered Specialty Work due to the higher level of care, expertise, procedures, resources, space requirements and tools often needed to produce desired results.
Our fee for Standard Work is billed at $125 per hour. Specialty Work is billed at $145 per hour. Parts and materials are billed separately for each task.

Policies, Terms and Conditions
Communications
We employ the use of email and digital media so expect to receive the information that you need. Your questions help us conduct our communications. Please share your thoughts and ask questions freely.
Parts
At ROHR Auto Works we only install high quality components that come from known and trusted German OEM suppliers and Porsche directly. Know that all repairs carried out here are done so with your best interest in mind. We don't use cheap aftermarket parts as we cannot be sure of their origin or durability. With that in mind, it is our policy to not install parts that clients bring to us. Much like a favorite restaurant, we provide expertise, materials and labor as a package- we believe that this will ensure a consistent and favorable outcome every time.
Diagnosis and Repair Process
Our term Diagnosis is defined by the following statement: the necessary testing phase in the repair process in which our technician uses tools and equipment to troubleshoot your complaint and develop an appropriate repair strategy; disassembly may often be required to complete this process. Once our diagnosis is complete, we estimate repair costs using said repair strategy. The term Repair describes the execution of the aforementioned repair strategy. The goals, methods and tools used during diagnosis often differ from those used during a repair. These two procedures are completely separate from one another in most cases. For example, there may be a fee for the diagnosis(finding the cause) of a 'Check Engine Lamp' fault and a separate fee for it's repair(fixing it).
Guarantees
We guarantee our labor for a period of 12,000 miles or 12 months unless otherwise noted on your invoice. In the case of a part failure covered by this guarantee, we will replace the part at no cost to you. We take a great deal of pride in our craft- it hurts us when you're inconvenienced in this way and we will work hard to make this as easy for you as possible. We will not, however, be responsible for parts that have been subjected to abuse, neglect, or tampering; nor will we be responsible for damage caused by ignorance or failure to follow service recommendations. **Vehicles that are used on a race track or closed course are subject to conditions and/or a high level of use that could be classified as abuse. Workshops such as ours seldom, if ever, guarantee work or parts on vehicles that are used on a racetrack or in this manner. If your vehicle participates in any racing events, racing activities or is driven on a race track after work is completed in our workshop, this will in most cases void any type of warranty or guarantee expressed herein. In any case, we will use our discretion and exercise judgment on a case-by-case basis in the event of a part or workmanship failure.
Repair Estimates
Repair estimates are given based on the labor and parts that we know we will need to carry out the work we intend to do. If we are familiar with the particular vehicle and/or have the vehicle in the shop at the time, we have a better chance of estimating repairs accurately. Repair costs can increase as a job progresses due to subsequent discoveries, vehicle age, damage, corrosion, etc.-these can have an effect on our repair strategy. There are circumstances when repair estimates will not or cannot be given. In cases like this, we invoice according to labor and materials needed to complete the task(s) in such a way that produces the best possible outcome.
Our Competition
We are committed to offering the highest level of service possible and the best mechanical work your money can buy. We do not intend to compete with neighboring independent shops and chain-service retailers as they often do not supply the same level of specialized service that we do. Not all work is created equal- different pricing usually mean different methods, strategies, materials and expertise are being utilized- all of which will ensure an individual outcome. Rather than to cut corners to find the cheapest way to perform a given repair, we seek long-term, quality solutions for your Porsche.
