The Purpose of a Pre-Purchase or Post-Purchase Inspection
Pre | Post-Purchase Inspections are always recommended. Why? To arm you, the new or prospective owner, of the vehicle's condition so that you can make informed decisions about it's care. It's wise to know everything you possibly can about the Porsche before you buy it but equally as wise if you already purchased it. Our inspection report will guide you through the vehicles condition details and will give you a clear picture of what you need to know to make that purchase decision or what to have serviced and when. Whether Pre or Post-Purchase, we perform all of our inspections the same way- we want to make sure that you know as much about the vehicle as you possible can. This will help you make informed decisions about your newly purchased or potential future car. The following is a breakdown of our protocol and what to expect when requesting a Pre-Purchase or Post-Purchase Inspection on a Porsche:
High Resolution Photos: We capture the vehicles aesthetics and make them available to you through our website via a secure link. This will allow you to browse the vehicles condition as if you were present and is especially helpful for those looking to purchase a vehicle from outside the area.
Comprehensive Visual Inspection: We lift the vehicle and remove it's wheels and under-trays for visual access. The vehicle is then meticulously looked over and it's condition is noted and photographed. The vehicle's interior is treated with the same level of attention.
Extensive Control Module Scan: We connect the Porsche PIWIS(Porsche's Proprietary Diagnostic Computer System) to the vehicle and read the vehicle's data. This will help give us a glimpse of the vehicle's condition, it's fault and error reading, Readiness(ability to pass State Emissions Testing), engine over-revving and more.
Compression and Leakdown Testing: This service is optional and available at the client's request. During these tests, the ability and integrity of the engine's individual cylinders are tested. The results are then analyzed and reported.
Contact Porsche for Further Information: We contact Porsche and report any open campaigns, recalls or service actions that are open on the vehicle.
Strict Privacy: We only share the inspection outcome/report with the individual(s) that pay for the inspection. We do not use or share knowledge or information obtained during any inspection with any other person for any other purpose than is in our client's best interest.
Vehicle Condition Report: This report is a summary of our inspection detailed above. Any notations in the report are done so based on results obtained during a visual inspection, compression and leakdown testing and PIWIS scanning. No opinions will be expressed here. We merely report facts based on what is observed.
What is Not Included: The purpose of a Pre| Post-Purchase Inspection is to educate and inform the client as to the condition of the vehicle undergoing inspection. The vehicle's condition at the time of inspection is reported only. The following are elements that are not included and not to be expected during an inspection:
- Diagnosis: No troubleshooting is performed during a PPI.
- Guarantees: No guarantees are made, expressed or implied during the course of any PPI.
- Repairs: No repairs of any kind are made or included during the performance of a PPI.
- Storage: Secure storage is only provided during the time required to perform the PPI, within reason.
- Purchase Assistance: We do not involve ourselves in the private sale or transaction nor do we offer advice on any vehicle purchase. It is our intent to educate and equip our client to help them make an informed decision.
